ABOUT

I grew up in canoes and canola fields at the longitudinal centre of Canada. It is a magical place with northern lights, a killer art scene, and some of the friendliest folk… but I always knew I would live elsewhere. So, here I am living elsewhere! I am married to a Canadian diplomat, which means we move every 2-5 years. This obviously means my career must be nomadic, and thankfully it is! I work in marketing and communications for various clients and organizations. This involves strategic and analytic planning, public relations, and content creation (graphic design, video, + animation). You can read more about my professional self here or see examples of my work in the portfolio section of this website.

I boomerang between feeling that our perpetual international relocation is absolutely amazing, and feeling like I am missing out on having a tight community of people with whom to grow and learn. The diplolife can seem glamourous and amazing, but it comes with it’s own set of challenges. As a diploSpouse I am not provided the immediate community my spouse finds at work, my life happens in a foreign language, and I spend A LOT of time alone (with my dog). So, this blog is dedicated to the highs (ie: viennese balls & skiing in the alps), and lows (ie: isolation & challenges living in a foreign country) of being a diplomuse.

I will leave you with a 2000 year old Confucius quote. “Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” Although some days are difficult, I wouldn’t trade this life or my pack (partner + dog) for anything!
